ロータリーの綱領

ロータリーの綱領は、有益な事業の基礎として奉仕の理想を鼓吹し、これを育成し、特に次の各項を鼓吹、育成することにある：

  • 奉仕の機会として知り合いを広めること：
  • 事業及び専門職務の道徳的水準を高めること：あらゆる有用な業務は尊重されるべきであるという認識を深めること：そしてロータリアン各自が業務を通じて社会に奉仕するために、その業務を品位あらしめること：
  • ロータリアンすべてが、その個人生活、事業生活および社会生活に常に奉仕の理想を適用すること：
  • 奉仕の理想に結ばれた、事業と専門業務に携わる人の世界的親交によって、国際間の理解と親善と平和を推進すること

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster.

  • The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
  • High ethical standards in business and professions ; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations ; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society ;
  • He application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life ;
  • The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world felloship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

四大奉仕部門

ロータリーの綱領に基づく奉仕の四大部門は、ロータリーの精神的な礎であり、クラブ活動がよりどころとする基盤です。

  • クラブ奉仕 は、親睦活動とクラブの機能を充実させることを主眼とします。
  • 職業奉仕 はロータリアンが自らの職業を通じて人々に奉仕し、高い道徳水準を実践することを奨励します。
  • 社会奉仕 は、地域社会の人々の生活の質を向上させるためにクラブが行うプロジェクトや活動です。
  • 国際奉仕 は、世界中におけるロータリーの人道的な活動を広げ、世界理解と平和を推進する活動を含んでいます。
  • 新世代奉仕は、指導力養成活動、奉仕プロジェクト、交換プログラムを通じて、青少年と若者によって好ましい変化がもたらされることを認識するものである。

四つのテスト

言行はこれに照らしてから

  • 真実かどうか
  • みんなに公平か
  • 好意と友情を深めるか
  • みんなのためになるかどうか

Of the things we think, say or do

  • Is it the TRUTH ?
  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  • Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
